- Kingda Ka the tallest roller coaster in the world opened on May 21, 2005, in Six Flags Jackson, New Jersey. It is also the 2nd world’s fastest roller coaster. Anyone who wants to ride must be at least 54 inches which are around 4’5. Kingda Ka goes around 128 miles per house in 3.5 seconds. It is also named after a 500-pound mythical tiger. Kingda Ka was struck by lightning in May 2009 which caused serious damage. It reopened on August 21, 2009. (3 months of repairment)
- Top Thrill Dragster is the 2nd tallest roller coaster in the world. This roller coaster located in Cedar Point opened on May 4, 2003. At one point this roller coaster was the fastest and tallest until Kingda Ka was opened. This roller coaster goes from 0 to 120 mph in just 4 seconds which is crazy fast. You must be a minimum of 4’3 to ride this roller coaster. For now, this roller coaster is closed but is expected to be open back in around 2024.
- This roller coaster is 3rd on the list of tallest roller coasters. SUPERMAN: Escape from Krypton opened on March 15, 1997. When this ride opened it was the tallest and faster roller coaster in the world but not anymore. Another cool thing about this ride is that it actually has a separate ride on the same ride which is Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom which opened on July 7, 2012. Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom is on the sides of the roller coaster SUPERMAN: Escape from Krypton. To ride this roller coaster you must be at least 4’0 to go on it. Same with Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom you must be 4’0 to go on the ride.
- This roller coaster located in Dreamworld opened on January 23, 1997. This roller coaster goes 100 miles per hour and goes 377 feet high up in the air making it the 4th world’s tallest roller coaster. At the time this roller coaster opened it was the first-ever roller coaster in the world to be able to go 100 miles per hour, it was also the tallest in its time until it got beat by another roller coaster. When this ride was opened you had to be 3’11 to ride this roller coaster. Sadly this roller coaster is closed. Tower of Terror II closed a few years ago on November 3, 2019.
5 . Red Force opened on April 7, 2017, at Ferrari Land. This roller coaster goes 180 km/p in just 5 seconds and is 367 feet tall. This roller coaster took around 97 million dollars to make which is very expensive. To go on this ride you must be at least 4’6 to go ride Red Force. This roller coaster last about 40 seconds which isn’t very long but also isn’t very short. Red Force can seat 1,200 people in an hour and the track is also 880 meters long, imagine going past 880 meters long worth of a roller coaster in 40 seconds!
