Clubs, Clubs, & More School Clubs!

Clubs, clubs, clubs so many of them at dana each for a different kind of person. For example, the Dungeons and Dragons club is for role players and people who enjoy a magical adventure. There are many other kinds of clubs like the Robotics club which builds hydrogen cars and races them in the hydrogen car tournament. They race the tournaments on a foam track. It is a very demanding club because some races can last up to 8 hours straight and the cars take a long time to build. It is also costly money-wise because the cars cost more than 1,000 dollars. But Dana has won so many competitions it’s worth the work! Dana has gone up against other schools and even high schools in tournaments in which we have emerged victorious! If you want to find out more go talk with Mrs.Traylor.
The Dungeons and Dragons club is only for some people. Dungeons and Dragons is a dice-rolling game where you fight monsters. They also make characters that have health and damage points and lots of other abilities. The characters fight the monsters by rolling dice. They also can make their adventures and monsters. The perfect club for people who like using their imagination and like to embark on a magical quest.
The GSA or (gay-straight alliance) is the main club at dana. It is a club that supports LGBTQIA+ students and allies. LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and many other terms such as pansexual and so many more! They support this because they think that everybody is allowed to love anybody they want. In the case that you don’t know what an ally is it is somebody that supports equal rights. They have lots of events one of their biggest ones being the pride parade in January. They also have speakers encouraging equal rights. They put up crafts and art that they make around dana. Their mission is to spread the idea of tolerance around Dana and San Pedro. But this club isn’t just for people who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community here at Dana, it’s also for people who support and want to show support for this community even if they find themselves straight.
Here at Dana, there are many clubs to choose from, if you find yourself not interested in any of the clubs here, don’t worry, because, with the direction that Dana is going, I’m sure you’ll find something! If you are interested in any of these clubs, ask an administrator about where you can find out more.
