The S.T.E.A.M Gala

The S.T.E.A.M Gala, what is it? Why do we have it? The S.T.E.A.M Gala is an event hosted yearly by the district to celebrate students throughout Region South in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. This event will be taking place at Stephen M. White Middle School in Carson on May 6th. Many teachers, staff, and even students participate in this event. There are multiple things to enjoy during this event, such as booths, a robotics playground, school performances, and even an art gallery.
During this event, many schools participate as every school located in the Region South area is showcased during this yearly event. Our school’s booth showcased the S.T.E.A.M. Magnet program, Art, Robotics, and many parts of projects. For 6th grade, the booth showcased how to design dinnerware and create a logo on Canva. 7th grade showcased some parts of the project through posters in the main set-up. Finally, the 8th-grade project showcased the winning team’s physical roller coaster build and a station to build a set to test marbles similar to how the roller coaster project used marbles to test the track.
Many teachers and students from our school participated in the events such as Mrs.Wiseman, Mr.Rahmanou, Mr.Seiple, Mrs.Traylor, Mr.Salceda, Mrs.Placencia, and Mr.Oulguin. Many students participated in this event from the 6th and 7th grades.
At this event, we showcased what Dana is all about and informed students and parents about the magnet program and everything Dana has to offer.
