Let the games begin! You heard it right, it’s kickoff time for the school-wide competition, Battle of the Homerooms! This event kicks off September 18th, 2023, and ends that Friday the 22nd. This event is hosted by Mrs.Kearcher’s leadership class and has prepared a fun-filled week with exciting activities to enjoy. But besides these fun activities, the week is also filled with fun spirit days for every student and staff to participate in. But why should your homeroom compete? At the end of the games, the winning homeroom will win a special prize. The prize you ask? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime rack up points for your homeroom by winning the activities and dressing up to show your school spirit!
Here’s the schedule for the dress-up days: Monday: Wear your college Gear, Tuesday: Twin Day! Wednesday: Adam Sandler Day, Thursday: Jersey Day, and finally, Friday wear fall colors or celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, if you are Hispanic wear your heritage’s colors with pride! Starting on Monday, leadership students will be assigned to different homerooms to take count on how many people dress. The scoring is simple. 1 person dressed is 1 point. So convince your classmates to show their school spirit by participating in the spirit week. But what about the fun activities?
Well if you’ve noticed, there are posters posed along the school with information on the activities. The start of activities will start with the 6th grade partaking in a balloon toss. On Tuesday, 7th graders will battle wheels with tricycles. Then on Wednesday, the eighth graders will show their skills in musical chairs. The finalists of these events will participate in the final event of the week, a water relay race. So get your spirit wear and prepare for the activities to come. If your homeroom isn’t already signed up and you want to partake in the activities, convince your homeroom teachers to sign up. Contact Mrs.Kearcher for more information. Best of Luck Competitors!
